Job Overview:
Perform adult and pediatric echocardiographic studies including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow Imaging, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology
- ARDMS or CCI certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire
- Must be board eligible at time of hire
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift
- Per Diem
- Scheduling will vary based on the needs of the department
- Weekend availability required
Essential Functions:
- Performs echocardiograms with Doppler, color flow analysis, and strain to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease
- Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to determine each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment
- Assists the nurse and physician in the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms
- Administers Definity when necessary to obtain high-quality images
- Performs echocardiograms on both hospital patients and outpatients, which includes offsite locations in the area
