AudioSense Hearing, Balance & Concussion is a family-owned and family-run boutique audiology clinic that takes a holistic approach to audiological health care. There are two clinic locations; one in Yorkville and one in Markham, ON. AudioSense works with patients of all ages, including children and adults. They provide evidence-based clinical care to our patients, and the philosophy of care is three-fold:
AudioSense provides assessments and management/treatment for all hearing and vestibular difficulties. In addition to testing for hearing and dispensing hearing aids, they also provide follow up for implantable devices such as cochlear implant mappings and bone-anchored hearing aids, assessments and intervention for tinnitus, hyperacusis, auditory processing disorders, and auditory symptoms of concussions.
Role Description
This position is for a dynamic and motivated audiologist to join the team at the Yorkville location in Downtown Toronto.
AudioSense seeks a self-starter with a positive attitude to lead its clinic’s audiology services. As an audiologist with AudioSense, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly collaborative team with a diverse patient population. They think of the approach to clinical services as a happy marriage between evidence-based care and a focus on patient care. They also love thinking outside the box regarding patients and are always collaborating with other care providers.
The ideal candidate will have clinical experience working with both children and adults. You will have some experience or interest in working with patients who have a variety of hearing and audiological needs, including cerumen management, custom earmolds, hearing loss, sound sensitivities including tinnitus, hyperacusis, misophonia, and familiarity working with different hearing device manufacturers. You will also be familiar with advanced assessments for complex auditory deficits (i.e., auditory processing issues, high-frequency monitoring, post-concussion, etc…) and aural rehabilitation strategies. You will be responsible for the testing, evaluation, intervention and treatment of these hearing health difficulties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Audiology of Audiology Doctorate from an accredited university
- CASLPO registration in good standing (opportunity for new grad mentorship)
- Over 2 years of experience in Audiology preferred, but new grads are welcome to apply
- Authorizer with ADP and ability to obtain authorizer status with other third-party insurance
- Highly interested and motivated individual with a demonstrated passion for Audiology
- Must have a warm, kind, thoughtful, compassionate and flexible personality with a service-first outlook
- Ability to establish relationships with patients, their families, and their health-care providers
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail, and commitment to growth and quality improvement initiatives
- Strong diagnostic/counseling skills, with the ability to recommend an intervention/treatment plan for pediatric and adult populations identified with hearing loss, tinnitus, hyperacusis, misophonia, auditory processing disorders, balance disorders, cerumen management and custom earplugs
- Proven abilities to prescribe, dispense devices, and offer follow-ups for different auditory conditions
