Salary Range: $24.00 - $36.00
Support multiple locations within 150 miles of your permanent address.
Additional $5 per hour float premium.
Additional $1.25 per hour evening/night shift differential; 6:00pm – 6:00am.
Required to work at least 24 hours per month and at least one weekend rotation per month.
3-month previous experience in Long Term Care required, 6 months preferred.
Job Summary
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking to hire a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a Travel LPN! This opportunity allows an LPN to travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from home address providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
- Contributing to the assessment of residents and administering medications or treatments as ordered.
- Providing technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Documenting resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
- Communicating clearly and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Counseling residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements.
Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing board and/or possesses multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
