Salary Range: $26.5700 - $40.8500/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, provides care within the scope of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
- Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
- Follows patient identification procedures, provides appropriate information for all patient procedures, and collects and handles specimens.
- Assesses and implements prescribed interventions for the patient.
- Implements and documents discharge plan for each patient.
- Recognizes that ethical/legal/medical dilemmas exist in the nursing practice and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical nursing decisions.
- Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment.
- Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment.
- Completes and accurate charting of patient records.
- Completes and accurate record keeping of equipment and quality measures.
- Collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of care across the continuum, providing timely, safe and quality care.
- Responsible for providing a safe, HIPAA compliant environment for the patient and the staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of experience in a healthcare facility.
- Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
License Required
Current LVN License to practice in the State of California.
Certifications Required
Current BLS Certification.
