The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is the state of Florida’s social services agency. North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center (NFETC) is a 216 bed, all male, forensic, mental health rehabilitation facility located in northeast Gainesville, Florida.

This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve as Registered Nurse Supervisor F/C. This position will collaborate with each section within the state facilities and be required to use independent judgment, take initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities, and should be extraordinarily detail-oriented.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
- The employee in this position spends a minimum of 75% of his/her time performing duties which involve contact with residents in a forensic facility or institution.
- This position requires lifting, pulling, and squatting.
- Duties require knowledge of and utilization of the principles of Total Quality Management.
- The incumbent must be employed full time and work closely with and function under the direct supervision of the Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor.
- This employee is responsible for professional registered nurse and direct care supervisory duties in a specialized medical/mental health facility.
- This position requires a Florida Registered Nurse license with fulfillment of CEU requirements to maintain licensure every two years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position:
- Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to provide direct patient care and treatment.
- Ability to assess patients' progress and evaluate nursing care plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 and two years of Registered Nursing experience.
