Posting Summary
The Institute of Data Science, Learning, and Applications (I-DSLA) at Rutgers University, NJ has one or more openings for a research scientist with an immediate start date. The positions are fully funded for multiple years with a recent award from the National Institutes of Health on Developing Novel Technologies That Ensure Privacy And Security In Biomedical Data Science Research. The initial appointment will be for one year with the option for renewal based upon the candidate’s performance during the postdoctoral position. The Institute has multiple ongoing NSF and NIH funded projects in the broad areas of privacy, security, and data analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of Prof. Jaideep Vaidya to develop and analyze privacy-preserving solutions for biomedical data research.
- Implement the developed algorithms.
- Participate in collaborative meetings.
- Co-supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
- Document research activities and write research papers and reports.
- Pursue and secure funding for independent research and conduct research projects independently.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: The candidate should hold a PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The candidate should have demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas: privacy, security, cryptography, data analytics, and machine learning. Other required skills include proficiency in Python, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to learn new ideas.
