Within the position of Medical Advisor in Rare Diseases, your responsibilities will include providing medical and ethical support for assigned products, developing medical programs as part of the medical plan and coordinating and implementing these in local territories. Also increasing the value of the brand for all stakeholders by organizing participation in non-interventional studies, real-life outcome studies, and comparative effectiveness research.
In this position, some part of work is field activities with business trips (approximately 20%).
Responsibilities:
- Providing medical expertise in areas such as presentation review, abstracts and publications, implementation of registries, cohorts or clinical trials (mainly non-interventional);
- Developing and implementing strategic plans together with relevant cross-functional teams;
- Working with key internal and external stakeholders to identify optimal access pathways to the AZ product(s);
- Identifying and highlighting gaps in the care pathway as the catalyst for change to improve the SoC;
- Creating and maintaining relationships with thought leaders, other healthcare providers, and Patient Association Groups;
- Partnering with healthcare providers and Patient Association Groups on patient identification initiatives that can be locally adapted;
- Elevating the awareness/profile of the designated disease area as an important and debilitating disease;
- Implementing and disseminating high-quality medical and scientific education in the field – giving clinical and scientific presentations at sites and to key external audiences including local decision-makers and budget holders;
- Preparing medical programs/local territory medical tactics as part of strategic/operational/cycle marketing and medical plans and ensuring implementation of it in the field;
- Providing support for medical information, regulatory affairs and patient.
Essential Requirements:
- MD/pharmacist (higher education in Medicine);
- Experience in a position as a Medical Advisor;
- Working experience in the area of rare diseases;
- Confident & enthusiastic;
- A high level of knowledge in medicine generally and in the areas mentioned above;
- Advanced communication and presentation skills;
- Strong project management skills;
- Ability to work with large amounts of data;
- Customer orientation (both externally and internally);
- Result-oriented and focused;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Intermediate and more in English (requirement: free communication/correspondence/understanding/analysis of scientific literature);
- A driver's license is required.
