Under general supervision, provides direct Employee Health Services to GBMC HealthCare, Inc., employees. This includes efficient appropriate care of the injured employee, direct care to ensure and maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies and follow up related to surveillance activities to prevent the spread of communicable disease.
Education:
BS in Nursing or related fields
Licensures/Certifications:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
Experience:
2 years experience as an Occupational Health Nurse or Public Health Nurse
Skills:
• Strong interpersonal skills required to relate to outside agencies and employees, at all levels.
• Analytical skills necessary to evaluate employee and GBMC HealthCare, Inc. needs in order to take appropriate action and utilize appropriate resources.
• Computer skills necessary for word processing and data collection.
• Ability to stimulate, motivate and participate in effective health education for employees.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides nursing care to employees such as:
• Annual employee and volunteer screenings.
• Immunization program for employees.
• Evaluation and treatment for work related illness or injury.
• Assessment of employee illness and fitness for duty.
• Surveillance for communicable disease.
• Pre-placement examination program.
• Counseling employees regarding health and safety issues and referring them to appropriate services and agencies.
• Assists with case management of work related illness and injuries by interfacing with employee, physicians and third party administrator.
• Evaluates and/or documents employees returning from leave of absence or illness to ensure a safe return and recommends further medical evaluation or schedules employee to be seen by the Employee Health physician.
• Assists in a variety of clerical duties related to maintenance of medical records, scheduling appointments, acquiring reports from the system to assist in Worker’s Compensation and surveillance programs, and maintains equipment and supplies.
• Assists in departmental budget by maintaining records of expenditures and makes recommendations for purchasing and or replacing equipment.

Pay Range:
$30.48 - $46.85
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
