Position Overview:
The Wellness Coach Program Manager will lead and oversee the implementation and administration of the Wellness Coach Program in Salinas, CA. This role is responsible for ensuring that the program effectively supports youth behavioral health through non-clinical services, including wellness promotion and education, screening, care coordination, individual and group support, and crisis referral. This role is perfect for someone who has a strong combination of clinical and relationship skills and is looking to make a broad impact in supporting the mental health of California students.
The ideal candidate should possess strong therapeutic skills, have prior experience working with students, and experience managing staff. The candidate should also have the communication skills and relationship skills necessary to interact with school district leaders in an advisory capacity, and the project management and supervisory skills necessary to lead Wellness Coaches to improve mental health outcomes in school districts.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight:
- Lead the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Wellness Coach Program to meet the state's behavioral health objectives.
- Collaborate with school and clinical staff to develop and implement plans that align with the needs of students and the objectives of the Alisal school district.
- Develop and oversee training programs that equip Wellness Coaches with the skills needed for effective youth engagement and support.
Strategic Leadership:
- Establish and maintain program standards, monitoring performance and implementing improvements as needed.
- Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact, using data to inform decision-making and program enhancements.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in mental health and education, integrating new insights into practice operations.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Wellness Coaches, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to deliver high-quality services.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members to support their professional development.
- Address personnel issues promptly and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provide weekly supervision and support to Wellness Coaches within the school district.
- Collaborate with finance team to develop and monitor budgets for Wellness Coach operations.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources and the achievement of financial targets.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including school district leaders, community organizations, and regulatory agencies.
- Represent ESS at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote our services and mission.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns from stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of clinical experience treating children and/or adolescents with behavioral and emotional challenges is required.
- Must hold a valid California clinical license or a Per Pupil Services credential.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience required.
- Prior experience working in a school-based therapeutic program is a plus.
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and a solution-focused approach to problem solving is preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using a computer.
- Must be able to complete clinical documentation to ESS standards.
