The Patient Care Specialist will serve as the Voice of Amerita and will be the primary contact for our patients, pharmacies, and medical professionals utilizing Amerita’s services. The specialist will field inbound and outbound requests such as: calls to onboard new patients, schedule refill orders, completing patient assessments, and addressing financial concerns.
The Schedule for the Patient Care Specialist is Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 8:30pm Onsite.

Responsibilities
- Practices first call resolution to help health care providers and patients with their pharmacy needs, answering questions and requests
- Phone support - Communicates with patients and physician office staff to resolve issues, coordinate medication deliveries, collect co-payments, answer questions, triage calls to appropriate departments as needed
- Inbound calls should be handled using first call resolution customer service practices
- Obtains supply inventories from patients/clients and communicates information obtained to the Pharmacist as required and documents all communication in patient progress notes on the pharmacy computer system
- Notifies patients/caregivers regarding coverage and payment responsibilities. Collects co-pay balances or out of pocket balances
- Participates in management, departmental, and intra-departmental meetings, and quality improvement activities
- Performs activities related to the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal laws and REMS programs
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree, Licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law, Previous experience in Pharmacy, Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician desired
- Registration with Board of Pharmacy as required by state law, Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB), Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
- 2+ years pharmacy experience
- 3+ years pharmacy experience preferred
- Pharmacy or healthcare-related knowledge, knowledge of pharmacy terminology including sig codes, and Roman numerals, brand/generic names of medication, basic math and analytical skills, Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills.
- Specialty pharmacy operations, leadership skills desired
- Independent worker, good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to work independently, work efficiently to meet deadlines and be flexible, detail-oriented, great time-management skills.

Salary Range
USD $17.50 - $26.25 / Hour
