Ultrasound Technologist Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound examinations to aid in the evaluation and treatment prescribed by the attending physician. They efficiently conduct medical ultrasounds for the clinic’s patients while delivering outstanding customer service. Key responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, answering their questions, and ensuring proper positioning for accurate imaging. The technologist adjusts equipment settings according to procedural knowledge and established guidelines and provides support to clinic physicians as required. Additionally, the technologist regularly interacts with various computer programs and systems.
Ultrasound Technologist Position Qualification
- Minimum Education: Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, or Ultrasound Technology program
- Minimum Experience: 1 year experience preferred
- Required Registration/License/Certification:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Kansas License for Radiology Technology (LRT)
- Basic Life Support certification will be accepted from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider), or successfully completes within the first 90 days of employment.
- Certification in Abdomen and Vascular preferred
