Position Summary: Oversees the Youth and Family Counseling program ensuring quality client care through supervision of professional staff and properly implementing clinical policies and procedures. Bilingual candidates highly recommended to apply.
Salary: $38.00-$43.00 per hour
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include:
- Recruits and supervises the orientation and training of clinical personnel.
- Assures that professional and support staff properly implement clinical policies and procedures.
- Evaluates, counsels and promotes the growth and development of the clinical staff.
- Oversees staff in-service and external educational programs related to use of assessment/diagnostic tools and ensures that staff receive training in accordance with their licensures or certifications.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of services provided, and in collaboration with staff, devises improved techniques and methods of implementation consistent with national trends in mental health.
- Recognizes opportunities for potential involvement in new service areas.
- Plans, directs and/or participates in the development of new treatment services.
- Coordinates, develops and maintains quality assurance and program evaluation systems.
- Collaborates with the Executive Director to establish and maintain direction, operation practices, procedures, and standards for the organization, operation and performance pertinent to the delivery of client care.
- Assists in developing overall work objectives, determining short- and long-range goals, and planning and implementing strategies to achieve goals.
- Consults with and advises the Executive Director in strategic initiatives regarding needs, goals, future plans and challenges.
- Maintains staff productivity to budgeted standards.
- Attends appropriate meetings of committees in the community to keep up with changing practices and trends in the community.
- Develops relationships with agencies in the community that refer clients to the program including but not limited to area schools, social services agencies, state agencies, and court systems.
- Researches the process for licensure of the agency and follows through with its implementation.
- Follows through with professional development opportunities especially required for continued agency and individual licensure.
Requirements:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with Masters Degree in Counseling with 5 – 7 years’ experience supervising counseling programs in a school, government, or non-profit organization. Must have experience in Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT) approaches to counseling and a family systems approach. Senior Clinician must have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. In addition, the director should have knowledge of working with a database and word processing functions. Director should be up-to-date on HIPAA laws and other counseling practices.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA and other federal, state, Agency or Program standards including meeting all standards of professional or clinical practice.
- Must be able to talk, listen, write and speak clearly to clients and others. Bilingual highly recommended.
- Normal office conditions.
