Description
• Provide day-to-day leadership to mental health professionals and serve as a primary point of contact for district leaders.
• Directly supervise the work and performance of clinic and/or school-based mental health staff and develop their capacity to provide high quality mental health services.
• Foster program alignment, open communication and team cohesiveness within the department.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and daily program operations to ensure the delivery of quality mental health services for district students and families.
• Assist in reporting, analyzing and interpreting multiple sources of data to set actionable performance goals.
• Apply specialized knowledge and skills in the areas of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and consultation to ensure appropriate mental health interventions and services are provided across the program.
• Guard client confidentiality by being knowledgeable of and adhering to both FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
• Lead team staff meetings, case conferences, professional development and trainings to increase clinical skills and improve outcomes for critical cases.
• Coordinate, develop and deliver professional development and community outreach topics on mental health wellness, social emotional development, suicidality, threat assessments, behavior management, depression, anxiety and ADHD.
• Support district, community-based and multi-disciplinary partnerships, serving as an informed representative of the department, as needed.
• Promote institutional collaboration by building strong relationships at the campus, district, and community level.
• Comply with departmental policies, legal requirements and professional, ethical and quality of care standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• SCHOOL-BASED MANAGERS: Conduct campus visits to consult with mental health clinicians, administrators, and other school-based staff to provide critical case management, mediation and resolution of complex cases, crisis management, and other needed services.
• CLINIC-BASED MANAGERS: Ensure optimal delivery of mental health services provided at the Youth and Family Center and services provided within the schools, as appropriate. Maintain a safe, inviting, professional, clean and well-maintained facility.
Qualifications
- Required Master’s or doctoral degree and licensed by the State of Texas in mental health (for example LPC, LMFT, LSSP, LCSW).
- Experience working in an educational environment with clinical knowledge, skills, and expertise.
- Minimum of three years of managerial experience, preferred.
- Expert knowledge of and ability to use a wide array of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to improve students’ academic performance and psychosocial development.
- Ability to work independently and be part of a team environment while developing highly effective and valued professional relationships with families, campus leadership and staff, peers, community partners and district stakeholders.
- May require ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours.
- Ability to provide own transportation.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout the district.
- Demonstrated fluency in both English and Spanish, preferred.
