Overview
The Public Health Nurse Supervisor oversees local public health efforts in the areas of immunization and infectious disease epidemiology for the Health Department Springfield District Office, which covers Windsor County. The focus of the work is supervision of clinical and non-clinical staff responsible for reportable illness and outbreak investigations, vaccination clinics and vaccine management, and provider practice quality improvement efforts to increase vaccination rates. The Public Health Nurse Supervisor provides training in, and clinical supervision of, clinical nursing duties performed in a local health office to include vaccination, venipuncture, TST placement and reading, and specimen collection. The position reports to the District Director and is a member of the Springfield District leadership team.
*Starting rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of, or eligibility for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND five (5) years or more of professional nursing experience in public health or community health nursing* INCLUDING one (1) year or more at a supervisory level OR leading a group or team.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
*Community Health Nursing is defined as school nursing, home health nursing, home visiting nurses and community nurse health educators.
Demonstrated ability to lead implementation of equity-focused public health interventions. Strong project management, group facilitation, and communication skills. Ability to interpret state-level programmatic guidance to oversee local level action that meets the needs of the community.

NOTE: Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license as a condition of employment.
