Primary Function: Responsible for rendering professional nursing services, either directly or indirectly, for a defined group of patients according to the hospital’s philosophy of patient care.
Job Qualifications and Specifications:
- I.V. certification.
- The ability to recognize all significant cardiac arrhythmia.
- A clear understanding of symptoms and clinical findings for myocardial infarction and its complications.
- An understanding of the needs of the critically-ill medical and surgical patient.
- A thorough knowledge of the psychological as well as the medical needs of the patient and the need to maintain an environment free from noise and anxiety.
- Competence in the operation of all resuscitation equipment.
- BLS.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support completion. New graduates will complete ACLS within one year of hire.
- Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and basic for Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping.
- Attendance and completion of yearly competency fair.
- BSN.
- RI state RN licensure.
