Job Description
This privately owned company boasts a high retention rate, and has that small company feel that enables you to make a huge impact. This newly created role will help define and create new business opportunities by developing waterbased adhesives. You’d work closely with the Polymer Design team, and Sales and Marketing to launch new products to meet market demand. Duties:
- Responsible for formulation, development, and testing of waterbased adhesives.
- Evaluate polymers, raw materials, and testing for customer needs, working through scale-up and setting quality testing and standards.
- Own the development process from start to finish.
- Interact with other Synthesis Chemists, the Sales and Marketing staff, the President, CEO, the Owner, and other PU Adhesive Chemists.
- Focused on waterbased adhesives, with a portfolio that includes other Polyurethane Adhesives like hot melt and packaging.
- Responsible for new product development and technical service support for the water-based adhesive product line for the US and Mexico.
Key Responsibilities (included but are not limited to):
- Lead new and existing product development projects.
- Research and development of new formulations.
- Conduct product modifications as demanded by business needs.
- Plan, facilitate, and communicate development updates to department supervisor.
- Provide support to manufacturing facilities with existing or modifications of products.
- Keep accurate and updated laboratory records.
- Contribute to the positive growth of the department and organization while being a positive and motivating team player.
Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- BS/MS with a minimum of 5 years, up to 20 years of waterbased adhesive development experience required.
- Bench to manufacturing and customer knowledge, with support of the sales and marketing efforts.
- Experience developing workable products, mid-grade, and high-grade products. This is NOT research but hands-on product development.
