MRI Technologist - PRN - Ocala, FL
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist is responsible for coordinating and completing daily procedures. This includes prioritizing the sequence of operations, completing the actual exam, and following through with all necessary paperwork. Responsibilities include following physician orders/patient assessment, quality imaging procedures, patient care/radiation safety, QC/QA tasks, call/holiday schedule, maintaining current competencies, equipment QC, other duties as assigned, records/documentation, and lead tech duties if applicable.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year of experience performing diagnostic procedures and related responsibilities in a hospital or outpatient setting with proven scanning abilities and skills.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient knowledge of proper use and maintenance of MRI equipment.
- Conduct MRI examinations and procedures, including those requiring the use of contrast agents.
- Manage patients during complex MRI procedures with competence and empathy.
- Follow oral and written instructions, maintaining effective communication with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Perform scanning, document labeling, and ensure prompt resolution of quality assurance (QA) issues.
- Adhere to radiation protection and dose reporting policies and processes.
- Collaborate with other technologists to maintain overall departmental productivity.
- Assist radiologists in imaging procedures, including starting IVs and administering contrast when applicable.
Requirements:
- Ability to function as an MRI Technologist, conducting examinations for patients of all age groups.
- Demonstrate competency in PACS processes and conduct daily QA procedures.
- Effective communication skills and a commitment to excellent patient care.
- Proficiency with technical equipment in the MRI diagnostic modality.
- Adherence to radiation protection and shielding guidelines in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Up-to-date vaccinations as required for hospital employment, passing health screenings, drug tests, and background checks.
- ARRT (MR), MRT state licensure, and BLS certification required by AHA.
- Valid Driver's License in the State of employment and eligibility to maintain insurability.

SUPERVISION:
Position reports to Regional Manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Position requires driving to and from client locations to perform duties.
- MRI duties performed at client locations.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- The position occasionally requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the time tests are performed.
- Requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for the operation of equipment.
PUBLIC CONTACT:
Requires some public contact with client patients, client staff, and doctors, requiring considerable interpersonal skill, professionalism, and customer service.
