We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Canine Rehabilitation Nurse to join our veterinary rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will provide expert care and rehabilitation services to canine patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. As a vital member of our veterinary practice, you will utilize advanced knowledge and skills in rehabilitation techniques to improve the mobility, strength, and overall well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct thorough assessments of canine patients to determine their rehabilitation needs and goals.
-Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans based on assessment findings and veterinary recommendations.
-Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, hydrotherapy sessions, and other rehabilitative treatments.
-Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
-Educate pet owners on home exercises and care techniques to support ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
-Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of all rehabilitation sessions and patient progress.
-Collaborate with veterinarians and other veterinary professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.
-Stay current with advancements in canine rehabilitation therapies and techniques through continuing education and training.
-Maintain and clean rehabilitation equipment, ensuring proper functioning and sanitary conditions.
-Monitor and maintain proper water quality in hydrotherapy equipment, following established protocols and guidelines.
Requirements:
-Certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Nurse (CCRP, CCAT, etc.) from a recognized accrediting body
-Be a licensed veterinary medical technician in the state of Tennessee (LVMT) – if out of state be willing to transfer your license
-Proven experience in canine rehabilitation in a clinical setting
-Strong understanding of canine anatomy, physiology, and common musculoskeletal conditions.
-Excellent clinical skills in performing therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, and hydrotherapy.
-Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with pet owners and veterinary staff.
-Compassionate and patient-centered approach to caring for canine patients and their owners.
-Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
-Commitment to continuing education and professional development in veterinary rehabilitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Advanced certification in Canine Rehabilitation (e.g., Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner – CCRP).
-Experience with specialized rehabilitation equipment and modalities (e.g., underwater treadmills, therapeutic ultrasound).
-Knowledge of pain management techniques and medications used in veterinary rehabilitation.
