JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Students working at the poultry farm will assist in all facets of the operation, including cleaning and disinfection of pens, setup of new pens for research projects and facility birds, feeding, water management, egg collection and processing, meat bird and turkey processing for sales, incubation and hatching of eggs, artificial insemination of hens and collection of fertile eggs, and feed mixing and ration development. Students will also work on data collection with department investigators. Hours will vary throughout the week, and weekends are mandatory. Housing is available on a limited basis.
This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
