Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba.
Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) applies the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people-centered care approach. The LPN works to full scope of practice, engages in ongoing education and maintains competency congruent with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies and Professional Standards of Practice.
Qualifications:
• Current active registration with the College of License Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Completion of Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Program
• Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
• Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to lead and make decisions autonomously
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
• Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
• Good work and attendance record
Conditions of Employment:
• Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and other relevant checks
• All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment
• Required to attend Manitoba Nephrology Nursing program
• Required to travel to alternate sites for skill development
