SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Physician Assistant Director of Didactic Education and Master Educator supports the Physician Assistant Program and College of Medicine in fulfillment of its mission, purpose, and goals. Provides professional leadership and support, and serves as an educator, role model, mentor, career advisor, and facilitator. Provides program-specific expertise and is actively engaged in relevant department initiatives. Supports University, Campus, and/or departmental goals to ensure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet student learning, workplace, and placement expectations. Creates an educational environment that fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability.
This position is a full-time, in-person position, reporting to the PA Program Director and instrumental in the continual assessment, evaluation, and refinement of all aspects of didactic education in accordance with current ARC-PA standards. The Director of Didactic Education will work closely with the Program Director, program faculty, staff, and students.
The Director of Didactic Education will also serve as a Master Educator and be allotted one clinical day per week to maintain clinical practice with anticipation of being present on campus at least 3 days per week while classes are in session.
EDUCATION:
- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
- Current NCCPA certification.
- Active PA license in Pennsylvania or eligibility for this licensure.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Five years of experience in clinical PA practice.
- Three years of experience in PA education preferred.
- Experience in administrative programs and accreditation proceedings.
- Knowledge of/experience with ARC-PA standards preferred.
