The Clinical Area Director of Behavioral Health (CAD-BH) at GuideStar Eldercare (GSE) is responsible for deploying, empowering, supporting, and optimizing clinical practices that involve clinical psychologists, licensed social workers, and licensed mental health professional counselors across each region of GuideStar’s service market. This position collaborates with other operational leaders and the executive team in developing strategy and aligning strategic vision and infrastructure to successfully build and execute the Model, driving growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The CAD-BH ensures that GSE clinicians provide consistent quality, service, and improved outcomes for behavioral health patients in all facilities that GuideStar serves. The CAD-BH will also engage in external-facing clinical leadership by establishing relationships with GSE client administrators and management to assist in providing clarity around GSE services and clinical practices as well as take part in problem solving for clients.
The Clinical Area Director of Nurse Practitioners will work at our Corporate office in Crown Point, Indiana when not fulfilling position-related travel obligations.
Responsibilities:- Works with GSE operating teams to design and deploy scalable operational and administrative functions that serve a variety of clinical environments. This role ensures that there are clear objectives, effective communications, and actionable reporting on clinical, operational, financial, risk management, and compliance functions related to BH clinical services.
- Build relationships and further the mission of GSE with clients and prospective clients.
- Network with key community leaders in the BH field, colleges, and institutions to attract, recruit and retain clinicians.
- Responsible to deploy, facilitate, or coordinate enterprise-wide Behavioral Health functions.
- Oversee BH records reviews, chart audits, and peer review in coordination with Clinical Area Managers and Quality Management Team to ensure records meet corporate policy requirements and accreditation requirements.
- Interview and hire psychologists, social workers, and licensed master’s counselors to staff clinical coverage needs.
- Ensure compliance with established productivity standards. Ensures quality of services, including use of Evidence Based Practices. Measurable outcomes indicating excellent results of services compared to service system benchmarks.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies and regulations and standards for professional conduct and services.
- Ensure documentation standards are met at an exceptional level by each BH clinician.
- Engage in policy development for behavioral health clinicians.
- The services provided by the CAD-BH will be at the Company’s corporate office and in the field at current or potential client facilities in all current or future states in which GSE operates.
- Travel by car may be required daily, of which overnight stays may be approximately 20% of the time.
Qualifications:- Actively licensed Psychologist PsyD or PhD required (at least five years in the field).
- 3+ years of progressively responsible management experience and staff supervision are required.
- Coordinates fiscal management with AVP of BH, COO, and CFO.
- Excellent time management, communication, and stress management skills.
- Demonstrated empathy and interpersonal skills.
- Clinical experience managing services, including mental health and SUD, and populations with significant medical, social, and behavioral complexity.
- Ability to provide leadership and team management as well as ability to recruit and retain clinical staff.
- Flexibility.

- Valid driver’s license.
- Active auto insurance policy.
- Must have reliable transportation. Travel is required up to 20% of the time.
