The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of USC and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Rheumatology are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor. Candidates will be considered for Assistant, Associate, or full Professor as determined by experience and qualifications. We are primarily looking for individuals on the Clinician Educator tract and Clinical tract though we will also consider candidates on other academic tracts.
The successful candidate will provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings including outreach clinics and the ambulatory infusion center. While the position is chiefly clinical, faculty are expected to contribute to the education of medical students, pediatric residents, pediatric fellows in our training program, and rotating trainees in various levels of training including adult rheumatology fellows. Opportunities exist to conduct clinical, translational, or basic research.
The Division of Rheumatology at CHLA is the largest pediatric rheumatology program in Southern California with 5 faculty members and trains 1-2 fellows per year. The division has a satellite clinic in Long Beach, CA. The program has an exceptionally large and diverse patient population that includes inflammatory arthritis, lupus, systemic vasculitis, dermatomyositis, and periodic fever syndromes. Faculty members are involved in clinical trials with Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Research Group (PRCSG), research efforts through Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA), and collaborative studies with other disciplines.
The Division has an excellent multidisciplinary support team that includes nursing, social work, registered dietician, OT and PT, financial counselors, and administrative staff. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient Rehabilitation Services and a comprehensive pain management program. The Pediatric Rheumatology position offers collegiality, intellectual stimulation, and ongoing educational opportunities.
CHLA was ranked the #1 Children's Hospital in the Western US and #5 overall by US News & World Report. It is located in Hollywood in close proximity to hiking trails in Griffith Park, the observatory, and multiple diverse restaurants. There is easy access to Metro transportation which is just across from the hospital. The compensation and benefits package are competitive. New graduates and established pediatric rheumatologists are encouraged to apply.
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,904-$325,712.
