SCHEDULE:
- 24 hours a week
- Two 12-hour shifts a week (7P-730A)
- Every other weekend and holiday
- Differential pay for float pool, night shift, weekends, and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA Registered Nurse License
- American Heart Association BLS CPR
Summary:
Responsible for providing primary nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with current BFMC Standards of Care. Administers and monitors therapeutic interventions proficiently. Collaborates with health team members, and patients/families in the provision of care. Provides direct supervision to other health team members in the implementation of the patient care plan. Acts as an advocate for patients/families/significant others.
Job Description:
- Provides age-appropriate care to patients.
- Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and develops nursing diagnoses.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of assigned patients.
- Formulates detailed care plans specific to each patient’s needs.
- Analyzes the psycho-social impact of illness and collaborates with patients and families.
- Implements individualized care plans and maintains a therapeutic environment.
- Provides teaching relevant to the healthcare needs of patients.
- Implements and revises discharge plans.
- Establishes ongoing evaluation and modification of care interventions.
- Communicates pertinent patient information while maintaining confidentiality.
- Acts as an advocate for patient families.
- Manages patient care and supervises health team members.
- Demonstrates proficiency in teaching/learning principles.
- Identifies own professional educational needs.
- Promotes quality assurance and research activities.
- Demonstrates competency for one-to-one patient observation.
- Competent to care for patients in various units.
Education:
Bachelor of Nursing Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Required)
Certifications:
Basic Life Support – Other, Registered Nurse – State of Massachusetts
