Teach and evaluate the didactic and/or clinical skills within various RAD courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist department chair with administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends or a combination.
Responsibilities
- Instructional Development – the development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.
- Teaching Performance – the ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.
- Student Advisement – the participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.
- College and/or Community Service – the participation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service.
- Professional Development – the participation of the faculty member in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in his/her present position.
- Program Accreditation and Maintenance - the ability to work closely with the Radiography Department Head in the development, revision, and maintenance of a high-caliber Radiography Program that meets college, clinical affiliate, and national accrediting agency standards.
- Clinical Instruction - the ability to correlate clinical education with didactic concepts, supervise students during clinical rotations, and maintain current knowledge of program policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Radiologic Technology/Imaging Sciences, required. Must hold American Registry of Radiologic Technologist certification and active registration with 3 years of full-time experience in Radiography within the past 5 consecutive years. Documents two years' experience as an instructor (full-time or part-time in a J.R.C.E.R.T. accredited program). Master's degree in related area preferred. Teaching experience with effective teaching modalities and proficiency in instructional evaluation, curriculum development and student advising within a variety of Radiography and Allied Health areas.
