Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma – AA preferred, 3+ years of admitting supervisor experience in a hospital setting. Extensive knowledge in full capitation contracts/eligibility, shared risk, and the division of financial/authorization responsibility between hospital, IPA, and health plan. Knowledgeable in Medicare, Medi-Cal, Managed Care, Workers Compensation, Government Insurance, HIPAA, ABN, MSP, and other relevant Federal and State regulations related to admitting processes, obtainment of authorization, and billing requirements. Proficient in medical terminology and experienced in multiple patient registration/accounting systems. Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with typing speed of 40-50 WPM. BCLS required. Possess good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work ambiguously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring the workflow of the Patient Access department and PBX areas, handling quality assurance of all work performed by Patient Access Representatives, reviewing work performance, training and coaching admitting staff, developing and maintaining admission and customer service standard procedures, performing employee evaluations, and serving as liaison between admissions and billing/collection departments. Collaborate with all hospital departments to ensure Patient Access provides quality information at the time of registration.
