As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatments to cancer patients under the direction of a radiation oncologist. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform radiation therapy treatments according to the treatment plan prescribed by the radiation oncologist
- Provide patient education and support throughout the course of treatment
- Monitor patient reactions to treatment and report any adverse effects to the radiation oncologist
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy
- State licensure as a Radiation Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
