Department Details
Remote work, flexible work environment, autonomy to build and maintain programs, supporting student services and accredited education throughout the enterprise. Some travel may be required. This opportunity is available for an individual that resides in one of the four major markets: Bemidji, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, Fargo or Bismarck, ND.
Job Summary
Responsible for day-to-day operations related to strategic development of clinical education priorities, programs and services that support enterprise goals and also meet regulatory and accreditation requirements. Must be able to support vision, strategies and quality improvement activities for the achievement of the enterprise educational goals and learning priorities. Skills required in this leadership role include: exceptional team and relational (verbal and written) communication, delegation, and expertise and experience with the educational design process. Demonstrates self-direction and motivation to work both independently and collaboratively when exploring innovative solutions in program design, problem-solving, and decision making.
Manages a team of direct reports. Facilitates employee interviews, performs annual performance reviews for direct reports, and works with Human Resources through disciplinary processes.
Collaborates with leadership and clinical education teams on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of individual and team-based curriculums and programs. Considers safety, risk, quality, and regulatory aspects during this process. Delegates effectively when leading and facilitating projects with interdisciplinary teams at the enterprise level.
Assures the utilization of research and evidence-based practices are integrated into curricula and programming, consistent with national standards and benchmarks. Demonstrates knowledge of current clinical practice and be actively engaged in incorporating current research and evidence-based practice into learning activities and research proposals.
Engages with leaders and stakeholders regularly to provide project updates and plan effective strategies to meet the learning needs of the organization at an enterprise level. Coordinates established academic partnerships while exploring new and innovative approaches to support student clinical learning.
Contributes to the budget process by providing recommendations and input for program supplies and equipment purchases.
Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing is required. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA), and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with course work in education, adult-learning, business, leadership or organizational development, health care or demonstrated equivalent competencies.
Three years of experience in a leadership or management position preferred.
An unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state is required.
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Nursing Professional Development-Board Certified (NPD-BC) desirable.
