Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiac Electrophysiology - Piedmont Heart Institute
Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI), located in the heart of Atlanta, is recruiting for a full-time Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our APP-driven team providing Inpatient and some Outpatient services at PHI hospitals & clinics for patients with cardiac arrhythmias. This is a full-time position working four 10-hour shifts with no night shifts. Some travel between sites may be required.

Our APPs independently provide specialized care for patients pre and post electrophysiology procedures including but not limited to ablations (CTI, PVI, AVNRT, SVT, VT, etc), CIED implantation, and provide recognition/management of diverse cardiac arrhythmias in routine and complex patient populations. As an Electrophysiology APP, you will also become competent in device interrogation and interpretation. This position will require decision-making skills, as ideal candidates will have experience with limited supervision and work well independently.
Responsibilities
- Performs high-quality patient assessment and management, under physician supervision, in accordance with federal and state regulations, practicing evidence-based medicine.
- Participates in daily inpatient rounds with Electrophysiologist.
- Manages direct patient care on inpatient service including rounding, admissions, consultations & discharges.
- Manages direct patient care on designated outpatient clinics and associated follow-up.
- Orders and schedules diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients as direct patient care services are delivered.
- Works designated weekends and holidays with general cardiology IP service.
- Works four 10-hour shifts (inclusive of IP, OP & weekend requirements).
- Participates in training APP fellows, students, and nurses.
- Demonstrates teamwork by communicating effectively and working cooperatively with all members of the health care team.
- Displays respect and fosters an appreciation towards all members of the PHI team.

Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
- Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Holds current license from the Georgia State Composite Board.
- BLS / ACLS certified.
*Ideal candidate has at least 1-2 years of experience managing Cardiology and/or Electrophysiology patients.
