The position can guarantee 15 hours a month working at least one weekend a month or, if willing, could have 30 hours a month if you work two weekends a month.
Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy license
- Previous hospital experience preferred
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Responsibilities
The Staff Pharmacist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Receives and processes physician orders for patient medication administration
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of each order completed and medication selected by technicians prior to patient administration
- Provides appropriate medication information to physicians, nurses, support staff, and patients as required or requested
- Reviews medication regimens for appropriateness taking into consideration diagnosis, microbial sensitivities, allergies, interactions, laboratory information, dietary interactions, and other pertinent information
- Ensures that all legal requirements, policies, statutes, and rules are complied with relating to the practice of pharmacy
The Staff Pharmacist reports to the Director of Pharmacy. This position may have additional or varied physical demands and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. Job conditions may require exposure to hazardous risks including exposure of the skin and eye to medications, cleaning supplies, or disinfectants. Potential for bodily injury related to job duties. The pharmacist will be exposed to constant interruption, noise, requests, and demands from outside sources potentially creating stressful situations.
