ALBANY, NEW YORK (USA). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY is seeking an AP or AP/CP board-certified pathologist to participate in clinical services of general surgical pathology in an academic or community hospital setting. Fellowship training in gynecologic pathology, breast pathology, cytopathology or gastrointestinal/liver pathology would be desirable but is not required. Activities in translational research and medical student/resident teaching can be tailored according to individual preferences and department needs.
Albany Medical Center, a quaternary care 767-bed academic medical center, serves as the academic hub of the 4 hospital Albany Med Health System. The system department consists of 21 faculty members, an ACGME accredited pathology residency program and 2 fellowship programs (ACGME-accredited hematopathology; non-ACGME accredited surgical pathology). The laboratory medicine division supports fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) and molecular diagnostics with a well-equipped departmental research laboratory for translational research endeavors.
The Albany region is known for outstanding public schools in beautiful but affordable suburban neighborhoods within 20 minutes of the medical center as well as convenient proximity to both major cities (New York City and Boston) as well as local attractions (Adirondack Mountains, Lake George and Saratoga Springs).

Salary: Salary Range for full-time employment: $220,000 - $336,500 (commensurate with experience and academic rank, does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Significant premium added to base salary for community hospital setting).
