NOTE: This is an internal opportunity available to ranked faculty and adjuncts and will be awarded 4-5 FLC's per trimester that may vary based on the scope of the position.
Position Information:
The Massage Therapy Program Chair reports to the Dean of College of Health and Wellness and serves as the Massage Therapy program leader. The role of the Program Chair is to provide leadership and management to the Massage Therapy program to ensure continued success and growth.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee Curriculum Assessment and processes designed to improve Student Learning.
- Represent the Massage Therapy program at admissions events.
- Develop and implement annual program goals and work plans aligned with the University Strategic Plan.
- Oversee accreditation process through continuous programmatic review and analysis.
- Organize and lead program meetings.
- Manage recruitment for faculty positions as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Performance management.
- Submit program course schedules to Registrar.
- Conduct periodic program evaluations/reviews.
What you need to have?
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in the field of massage therapy with a preference for educational leadership and administrative experience and/or education.
- BCTMB certification required.
- 5+ years experience as a massage therapist required.
- 3-5 years management experience preferred.
- Teaching and administration experience preferred.
- Experience leading and managing faculty in a higher education setting preferred.
- Experience in healthcare education settings preferred.
- Candidates should have experience interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
