Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – CVICU
Length: 13 weeks
Weekends: minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule *sat or sun for day shift; fri, sat for night shift (e.g. essentially means RN could work every Saturday and have off every Sunday based on unit needs).
Requirements:
- TN license
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a large level 1 trauma facility
- Must have prior travel experience
- Must have CVICU experience
- Must have experience with vents, drips, and lines
- BLS
Others:
- EMR: Epic
- Pat Pop: Post cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplant, heart failure, VAD, acute myocardial infarction, post cardiac intervention, cardiogenic shock, acute kidney failure
- RN’s start IV’s, nurses do their own glucose checks, EKG interpretation
- Ages 18+
- Ratios: days/nights 1:2-3 (based on acuity). ICU 1:2-3; Stepdown 3-5, M/S – 4-6
- Could float: Please note that the trauma, neuro, surgical, and burn ICU’s have their own stepdown units. If assigned to one of these units, majority of travelers time will be assigned patients in specialty stepdown, but need ICU Level RN’s based on patient acuity, and flexibility to float in ICU
- Facility requires all travelers to have complete COVID vaccine series or valid exemption by Start Date. No Exceptions

Cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) travel nurse jobs provide care to acutely ill patients who are recovering from cardiothoracic (CTICU) conditions or events, such as open heart surgery, AAA repairs and CABC. A CVICU travel nurse must be capable of administering care on a full spectrum, from clinical tasks such as medical history analysis and diagnostic testing, to personal care such as counseling patients and family regarding home-care and wellness. Overall, the CVICU nurse treats some of the most acutely ill patients in the hospital, and must do so safely and compassionately.
