We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Full-Time Veterinary Technician who shares our commitment to innovation in pet care.
As a Full-Time Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for assisting veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of animals. Your duties will encompass a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks, including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities

Patient Care:
- Assist in physical examinations, vaccinations, and wellness checks.
- Monitor and record vital signs and health status of animals during procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including wound management and fluid therapy.

Diagnostic Procedures:
- Collect and prepare samples for laboratory analysis (blood, urine, fecal, etc.).
- Perform diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasounds) and assist in interpretation.
- Conduct in-house laboratory tests and maintain accurate records.

Surgical Assistance:
- Prepare animals and surgical equipment for surgery.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Monitor anesthesia and post-operative recovery of patients.

Client Interaction:
- Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health.
- Handle client inquiries and maintain clear communication about treatment plans.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing client records.

Facility Maintenance:
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas, surgical suites, and exam rooms.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment according to protocols.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and medications.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Skilled in administering injections, intravenous catheters, and blood draws.
- Familiarity with veterinary software for record-keeping and scheduling.
- Knowledge of veterinary pharmacology, anesthesia protocols, and emergency procedures.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Empathy and compassion towards animals and their owners.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED required, relevant course work and completion of an accredited 2 to 4 year Veterinary Technology Program, preferred
- Valid Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) certification and state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) preferred.
- Previous experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting is required. Ideal candidate will have at least one year's experience as a surgery technician.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.
