Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients in their homes. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for the set-up of related products for patients in the home setting, including therapeutics, diagnostics, high-tech ventilation, oxygen, and other miscellaneous respiratory equipment. Reporting to: Departmental Lead, Supervisor, or Manager
Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri with on-call responsibilities.
Job Location: Columbia, MD and 50-mile radius
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory School
- Must have current RCP state licensure in the state inquiring employment and in good standing
- Must be willing to get cross-licensed in other states at the company’s expense
- Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing
- At least 1 year of experience as a working Respiratory Therapist is required
- Experience in the home care setting is highly desirable
- RRT certification required
- Current CPR-BLS certification required
- Must have adequate PC skills to use e-mail and update notes and other documentation electronically in a timely manner
Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:
- Provides patients and family members with timely and accurate information and takes appropriate corrective actions regarding our services to ensure complete satisfaction
- Ability to initiate and develop good working relationships with patients, family members, and referral sources is essential
- Ensures that the team plans daily events so as to be as efficient as possible with time management (e.g., minimizes travel time by planning routes ahead of time)
- Assists with the proper scheduling of set-ups and follow-up visits according to company policies and standards
- Works closely with the RT Clinical Liaisons in coordinating patient discharges
- Ability to properly triage problems in the field in accordance with company standards and other verbal and written training policies
- Ensures that the team follows proper procedures for accurate and timely documentation of patient concerns, and takes appropriate corrective actions
- Maintains strong knowledge of PromptCare’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures that they are applied consistently
- Ensures that the team maintains compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and SOPs at all times
- Fosters a culture wherein the team conducts activities with a mindset of delivering “white glove” service to the patients and family members
- Submits expense reports for travel at least once monthly and in a timely manner
- On-call responsibilities as needed

This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, and climbing all day. The ability to see distinctions in colors and shapes is also required. Coordinate fine and gross motor movements and hand/eye movement. Manipulate small equipment and containers, such as syringes, vials, ampules, and medication packages, to administer medications. Maintain balance from any position. Negotiate level surfaces, ramps, and stairs. Function with both hands free for performing psychomotor tasks. Maneuver in small areas. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 30 pounds or more.
