Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Kafka Administrator to fill an open position with a Fortune 500 company based in the greater Connecticut area. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in Kafka administration, contributing to the setup, maintenance, and enhancement of Kafka clusters for a dynamic organization.
In this role you will:
- Perform essential Kafka admin tasks, such as setting up new Kafka clusters, creating topics, granting permissions, offset reset, purging data, setting up connectors, and troubleshooting issues.
- Execute cluster-level tasks, including upgrading every node in the cluster using ansible scripts, implementing new monitoring and alerts, creating automation for recurring tasks, and setting up/testing new connectors.
- Conduct research on new features and technologies, performing proof of concept installations and testing.

The Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of hands-on Kafka experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Proficient in Kafka administration tasks, including creating topics, granting permissions, offset reset, cluster setup, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with ansible scripts for installing various Kafka components (broker, zookeeper, connect, schema registry, KSQL).
- Familiarity with writing/updating ansible scripts.
- Experience with researching and conducting proof of concept installations for new features/technologies.
- AWS experience is preferred.
