Fairfax Neonatal Associates, P.C. seeks full time, part time and per diem nursery pediatricians to join our private practice group. Our team is located in award winning community hospitals in Northern Virginia to include Inova Fairfax, Inova Fair Oaks and Inova Loudoun Hospital. Responsibilities include well-baby nursery management and routine deliveries with a neonatologist in-house.
Applicants must be Board Certified (BC)/Board Eligible (BE) and CPR/NRP certified and have experience with deliveries.
Job Title: Pediatrician
Job Summary:
Pediatric Physicians provide high quality, comprehensive professional medical services to pediatric patients within the Inova community hospitals to include pediatric acute care areas, newborn nursery, labor and delivery and the neonatal or pediatric intensive care units. Responsible for providing direct inpatient care for well-baby nursery management and routine deliveries with an in-house neonatologist.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts daily hospital rounds on all assigned pediatric patients.
- Provide direct care to pediatric patients to include diagnosis and treatment as necessary.
- Understands and follows performance standards for hospital providers.
- Work closely with hospital team to include Physicians, PA’s, NP’s and Nurses to maximize efficiency and coordinates medical care across service lines to ensure alignment of resources.
- Communicates and coordinates with other Inpatient and Outpatient physicians.
- Attend deliveries and work closely with obstetrician.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional pediatric medical principles, procedures, and techniques as appropriate.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
- Ability to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
- Ability to receive detailed information and exchange ideas orally.
- Ability to communicate clearly and develop positive interactions with patients, families, physicians, agencies, and staff regarding patient care.
- Ability to develop meaningful and impactful doctor/ patient/ caregiver relationships exhibiting compassionate bedside manner.
Education and Experience:
- MD or OD degree with American Board of Pediatrics-recognized pediatric residency (three years minimum).
- Valid certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and renewed prior to expiration.
- Valid and unrestricted Virginia Board of Medicine medical license.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- DEA License
Physical Requirements:
- Visual/ hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/ verbal communication.
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include lifting of supplies, patient, and equipment.
- Extensive bending, standing, walking or sitting may be required.
