Responsible for the efficient operation, growth, and development of the Nursing Resources Laboratory (NRL), ensuring an environment conducive to teaching and learning. Collaborates with School of Nursing (SON) faculty, especially Course Leader, Clinical Coordinators, NRL Staff, and Undergraduate Program Director (UPD) on the development of learning activities and resources within the laboratory that support and integrate the curriculum. Develops, maintains, and monitors equipment and supplies inventory and establishes procedures to maintain the aforementioned. Supervises and participates in the demonstration and validation of basic clinical nursing skills. Oversees the planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating basic clinical nursing skills and simulation-based learning to support mission-driven goals, strategies, and initiatives. Requires occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the NRL. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing (MSN).
- Four (4) years clinical experience in nursing with current knowledge of nursing skills and equipment used in practice.
- Four (4) years teaching experience in a pre-licensure baccalaureate nursing program.
- Current unencumbered State of Ohio Registered Nurse license and eligible for the MSL Compact license.
- Experience with simulation technology.
- Experience in teaching psychomotor skills and clinical simulation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a focus on medical-surgical nursing.
- Experience teaching in a pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Experience in staff scheduling, inventory management, and management of a clinical or academic nursing laboratory setting.
- Certification in Healthcare Simulation Education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of media, equipment, computer software, and learning models pertinent to nursing and health professions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on teamwork, integrity, and discretion, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
