Echocardiogram Technologist
The Echocardiogram Technologist performs routine and emergency Echocardiography and specialized Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiograms, and Stress Echocardiograms. Assists with non-invasive Cardiology testing, including EKGs and other diagnostic procedures as needed, and explains the purpose of the procedure to the patient and, if necessary, to the family. Performs all procedures in a timely manner. The Echo Tech must demonstrate knowledge of proper positioning of the patient and be able to position the patient to optimally visualize cardiac structures. Maintains the patient procedure log and reports statistics to the Manager/Director as needed. Informs physician(s) of significant abnormalities when necessary. Acts as the liaison to the Cardiologist to ensure that all tests are interpreted in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year full-time experience as an Echocardiogram Technologist
- Graduate of an AMA approved program for Echocardiography
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Current RDCS by ARDMS required
