Position Summary:
The Refill Authorization Pharmacist is responsible for triaging and processing approvals for refill renewal requests received by the associated clinical departments, utilizing a specified refill protocol and under collaborative practice agreement. The pharmacist will function in accordance with all state and federal rules, regulations, statutes and laws. The Pharmacist will work directly with pharmacies, providers and patients and serve as the lead for refill renewals for medications that fall within scope and protocol. The Pharmacist will also triage any need for additional information to process requests and facilitate ambulatory engagement for patients when necessary. The Pharmacist will actively recruit patients who are identified to benefit from use of UC Irvine Health Outpatient Pharmacy services. Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $169,002.72 Midpoint $185,497.92 Maximum $201,972.24
Required Qualifications:
Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
Registered Pharmacist in good standing licensed by the state of California
Completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy practice residency OR 2 + years experience as a clinical pharmacist
Preferred Qualifications:
Four or more years of pharmacy experience.
Experience working with a variety of patient populations.
Completed PGY-1 residency in community practice, acute care medicine, internal medicine, or managed care
Completed PGY-2 residency
Experience in prior authorization process
