Reporting to the Head of Medical Affairs, you will provide medical expertise to ensure proper support for Medical Affairs. Provide fair, balanced, objective, scientific input, and education about disease state, therapeutic landscape, and product(s). Ensure medical activities related to the promotion of our products are compliant.
Ensure information distribution, documentation, labeling, and promotional materials for marketed products are in compliance with corporate standards and government/industry regulations. Enhance medical and scientific knowledge by engaging in peer-to-peer interactions with KOLs, investigators, and other healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific and medical expertise on the assigned portfolio product(s).
- Contribute strategically with scientific/medical input in the development of brand medical plans and overall brand plans, including during brand launches.
- Serve as a medical expert and contribute to strategic product(s) plan.
- Implement strategies for scientific interactions within the medical community including main opinion leaders and patient advocacy groups.
- Support development of medical affairs plans throughout the lifecycle of the brand(s), including operations on logistical planning and implementation of medical projects, late phase studies, Investigator Initiated Study (IIS), publications, data analysis/interpretation.
- Participate in scientific meetings and conferences to maintain knowledge base and understand upcoming developments in the field.
- Engage with key experts, Health Care Professionals, regional/local institutions, and organizations in the territory through appropriate high-level scientific interaction.
- Collaborate by providing medical input and scientific reviews to cross-functional teams, including within Medical Affairs (Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, CHE), Market Access, Marketing, and Commercial.
- Ensure internal training and continuous medical support for the sales and marketing organization and for the medical review of promotional and educational materials.
Qualifications:
- Degree in nursing, pharmacy, or advanced degree in science/medicine required. MD, PhD, PharmD highly preferred.
- 5+ years' relevant pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry experience with a Medical Affairs focus preferred (medical advisor role).
- General clinical trial experience.
- Knowledge of therapeutic specialty area.
- Ability to use scientific knowledge.
- Must understand the Canadian healthcare environment.
- Flexibility for national and international travel (40% travel time).
