Position Summary: The ADL Day works with the Ness Center PPW team to ensure operational programming meets or exceeds outlined service provisions. Significant aspects of the work include assessment of life skills, supporting the residents' activities of daily living, maintaining proper documentation of services, and milieu management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Life Skills and Educational Counseling
- Facilitate daily interaction with residents to prompt, model, assist, and teach ADL skills.
- Actively support residents in facilitating socialization and recreation activities.
- Collaborate with residents to complete all ADL level responsibilities.
- Participate in milieu therapy by engaging in all regular milieu activities with residents such as meals, meetings, playing games, groups, recovery activities, etc.
- Support residents in maintaining daily schedule.
- Resident Chores/House Maintenance:
- Support residents in completing household chores and in maintaining the physical plant by monitoring and inspecting their household chores.
- Maintain a list of needed building repairs and assist residents in repairing when appropriate.
- Food and Household Goods:
- Assist, monitor, and support residents in meal planning, meal preparation, food inventory, creation of grocery list.
- Support implementation of Nutrition Program.
- Monitor and assist at mealtime.
- Assist, monitor, and support the residents in household goods inventory, household goods shopping, and the distribution and use of the household goods as assigned.
- Medication and Health Management:
- Take residents' prescriptions to pharmacy if nurse is off-site.
- Pick up prescription from pharmacy if nurse is off-site.
- Monitor the resident's self-administration of all medication and log when nurse is off-site.
- Assist residents in scheduling medical appointments and follow-up on medical recommendations.
- Collect resident urine samples if nurse is offsite.
- Clinical:
- Complete initial and exit assessments in a timely manner.
- Facilitate weekly individual and group sessions.
- Attend Clinicals, weekly supervision, and monthly staff meetings.
- Assist residents in conflict resolution and provide crisis intervention.
- Documentation Responsibilities:
- Maintain proper clinical documentation of services provided, in accordance with licensing and accreditation regulations.
- Complete incident reports during shift when necessary.
- Conduct, facilitate, and document health and safety drills.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Inventory each resident's possessions upon admission and discharge.
- Assist residents in securing all financial benefits for which they are eligible when assigned.
- Escort residents to appointments and shopping as assigned by Director.
- Implement and enforce all TNC guidelines.
- Photocopy/Scan file, as assigned.
- Prepare resident charts for admission and discharge.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED or personal recovery/life experience accepted.
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction.
- The ability to engage residents in their personal recovery from addiction.
- Valid Driver's License & vehicle insurance.
- Experience working with clients with mental health and/or substance use disorders including working with clients with domestic violence, probation and parole, and child/family services preferred.

HIPAA: Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical record of assigned patients.
Physical Demands: Ability to walk up and down stairs as some program services or office spaces may be located on a second floor; Ability to safely operate a vehicle; Ability to complete desk work (e.g., typing, paperwork review, and/or operate at a computer station for extensive periods of time).
Work Demands/Environment: Available to work flexible hours across different aspects of The Ness Center (e.g., residential component is 24/7 and crisis intervention after hours may be needed; weekend hours for groups; staggered shift availability). Flexibility to work from or travel to and from various facilities as needed.
