OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
The Health Assistant will work as a part of the BCS front office team to provide direct medical care to students and support a healthy school environment. They will routinely render first aid, oversee health office clerical duties, and support the BCS front office with answering phones, interfacing with families, etc.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Provide medical aid to students, when needed, and document necessary information
- Report serious accidents or symptoms to families and administrators
- Dispense prescription medications and performs head lice checks as necessary
- Track student wellness and follow up with parents and/or staff as appropriate
- Assist with yearly health screenings
- Maintain inventory of medical and first aid supplies for classrooms and health offices
- Enter and update student medical and health records in student database
- Answer front office calls, communicate with parents, support with student and/or teacher needs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Participate on committees as assigned
