Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the performance of the full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and related chemical substances. Responsibilities include providing quality patient care, ensuring timely throughput of patients, and performing their exams. The role involves operating and performing quality control of stationary and portable scintillation equipment, including gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices, and ancillary equipment. The incumbent performs PET, Nuclear Medicine, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanners, including the injection of CT Contrast Media, image acquisition, and reformatting. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for performing necessary scans and procedures to aid in scanner qualification for research trials, as well as creating and programming study-specific protocols under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor and Medical Director. Requirements include being available for On-Call duties.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Demonstrated customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Availability for on-call/call-back service as needed
- Minimum one year, full-time experience working as a CNMT
- Possession of the skills, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Current BLS certification
- Current and active State of California CNMT License
- Current and active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure for Nuclear Medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year, full-time experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
Skills and Certifications:
- Current BLS certification
- Current and active State of California CNMT License
- Current and active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure for Nuclear Medicine
