Under limited supervision, serves as the lead with identifying, cultivating and soliciting substantial gifts from prospective donors to GBMC focused on upgrading annual giving donors committing gifts of $1,000+. Builds close working relationships with individuals; responsible for gathering and analyzing data on donor gift opportunities, and developing appropriate follow-up with a large portfolio of the contributors to the GBMC Foundation.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
Experience
5 to 7 years progressively complex experience working with donors and their advisors.
A technical background in proposal development with a proven track record of success in attracting and closing on five and six figure gifts for healthcare, education, or community organizations where fundraising is a critically important source of revenue.

- Experience with using computer database for tracking donors and prospects.
- Must possess excellent teamwork abilities and be able to motivate volunteer leaders to reach their fundraising objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Cultivates through personal visits and the development of solicitation strategies a large portfolio of annual donors and prospects to the GBMC Foundation. Carries out fundraising campaigns for several specialized clinical service groups and programs within GBMC Healthcare Inc. Works with GBMC Philanthropic Committee members to attract outright gifts from known prospective donors.
- Prepares a variety of written communication materials to inform, solicit, and acknowledge gifts from primarily grateful patient donors. Organizes and keeps current donor supportive material, including directories, annual reports, and reports of call on each major donor assigned in the Raiser’s Edge NXT donor database software. Develops strategies for involving donors in the GBMC Foundation calendar of activities. Works closely with the Senior Director of Development to engage members of the management team and the medical staff to help prepare the Cases for support materials that can be presented to prospects.
- Collaborates with all professionals and support staff in maintaining accurate, up-to-date records on gifts. Prepares stewardship reports to contributors on a scheduled and as needed basis.
- Works closely with the Senior Director of Development, Vice President of Development & President of the GBMC Foundation to provide numerous opportunities for the President and CEO of GBMC Healthcare, Inc. to socialize with and cultivate donors. Arranges tours of the campus for annual giving and major gift prospects and strives to keep donors informed about exciting new developments before they are announced publicly.
- Engages in the strategic planning process in cooperation with the Senior Director of Development and other gift officers for programs within the GBMC HealthCare.
- Ensures compliance of the policies and procedures of the GBMC Foundation and GBMC Healthcare.
- Ensures capturing of activities, personal visits, and opportunities in Raiser’s Edge NXT management system.
- Implementation of multi-faceted campaign strategies to connect with donors in-person and virtually via webinar, through social media, and by phone. Methodical follow-through of strategic plan to successfully secure new donors and retain the existing donor pool.
