Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Exton PA
Reports to: Sr Director, BGC Therapy Operations
Position/Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified Lab Technician to join our team. The role will perform and support laboratory procedures and controls within the Biologics, Gene, and Cell Therapy (BGC) Department to maintain efficiency and compliance for the laboratory. The ideal candidate needs to have an entrepreneurial spirit that enables her/him to wear multiple hats as we scale-up the laboratory business. The candidate will have experience in working in a laboratory environment, preferably within biologics or GCT lab. The candidate will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions in the lab and expected to be passionate about working in a matrix organization environment. The goal is to optimize lab compliance and maintain the smooth running of the lab.
- Mammalian cell culture: feeding and maintaining the health of primary T cells; prepare cell culture media experience is a plus.
- Order, organize, and track lab supplies.
- Keep record of orders and receipts.
- Maintain lab reagents inventory and equipment calibration schedule.
- Interact with vendors, managing incoming and outgoing shipping of samples.
- Follow protocols to prepare reagents and carry out basic experiments, such as prepping instruments using cleaning standard protocols for testing.
- Willingness to take on other tasks as needed in a matrix environment.
- Responsible for adherence to procedures established to ensure testing quality.
- Support review of the suitability and effectiveness of the quality system with senior management.
- Manage overall cGMP lab compliance for continuous onboarding of new employees.
- Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with spreadsheet and database software programs.
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Education, Experience & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 1-5 years of laboratory operation and technician experience, especially in supporting more experienced scientists in a biopharmaceutical setting.
- Experience in managing biomaterials and chemical waste.
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills, and communication skills.
- Basic skillsets required: mammalian cell culture, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, DNA/RNA extraction, and PCR are major pluses for this role.
- Experience with laboratory safety procedures and compliance.
- Experience in supporting 5S for lab monitoring is a plus.
