Join our growing team! This is a newly created position within the existing Maple Grove PT team. Permanent part-time 0.75 FTE (30 hours/week) pediatric physical therapist position at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare. The primary site for the position is our 9550 Upland Lane North Maple Grove, MN 55369 location and the candidate may be required to travel occasionally to other Gillette sites. The physical therapist position requires practicing in various settings including outpatient, telehealth, and occasional weekend rotation on the inpatient unit. Purpose of Position:
Provides direct and indirect family-centered therapy services for patients to increase functional abilities, independence, and community integration. Contributes to department, program, and service teams to assure achievement of desired outcomes.
Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $33.84/hour to $50.74/hour, with a median wage of $42.29/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Major Challenges:
- Requires specialty knowledge in human growth and development and multiple rehabilitation and habilitation program and service areas.
- Effective team functioning requires working with a wide variety of disciplines at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, the patient and family, community education and medical professionals, representative of public and private providers, interpreters, advocates, and payers.
- Providing ongoing comprehensive education, guidance, and support for patient, family, and community.
Qualifications:
Required:
- PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
- Physical Therapy State License
- Pending credentials: Registration and Licensure pending, not to exceed three months in this status
- Current certification in CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association) or must obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred:
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred
- Virtual care experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of child growth and development, rehabilitation theory and practice with a wide variety of childhood onset diagnoses and related considerations including anatomy and neurology, emotional behavior factors, family needs and issues, community transition, and equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to function as an effective team member
- Competency in (occupational therapy, physical therapy, or speech language pathology) evaluation, treatment, and related family/community education and planning for transition to community services.
