Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital is searching for a dedicated Infection Control Nurse to be a part of our amazing team! This position performs work related to infection control for staff and patients in the hospital. The goal of the infection control department is to promote sound and scientific infection control principles and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Check census reports and run WVSIIS on every new admission and readmission.
- Complete documentation of visits/interactions with patients and staff.
- Supply PPE to staff.
- Help with the administration of vaccines and TB skin tests according to Federal and State laws and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
This is a tobacco-free facility. Chosen applicants must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in Agency and Bureau policies. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Candidates must successfully pass a background screening.
Appointment Incentive: This position qualifies for an appointment incentive of $12,500, to the selected applicant who agrees to work for the facility for a minimum period of twelve (12) months.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: None.
- Licensure/Certifications: Current West Virginia license to practice as a registered nurse.
- Experience: Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in nursing.
- Internal Applicants Only: One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a Registered Nurse may substitute for the required experience.
