Mountain View Surgery Center of Scottsdale is seeking a Full Time RN OR Circulator with Experience in Total Joint and Ortho to join the team!

Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse and Clinical Director, this position provides nursing care to ensure the safety of the patient during their transfer and stay in the surgical suite/procedure room.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic techniques and procedures
- Supervise and direct the activities of surgical technicians and non-professional personnel as necessary
- Perform assessments of patients for specific nursing care needed
- Check room for needed supplies and prepare room for specific patient and procedure
- Assist in transporting patients to operating room/procedure room and check patient record for appropriate pre-op preparation and procedures (i.e. lab, x-ray, appropriate permits)
- Perform clean up following procedures, as well as general housekeeping duties
- Set up operating room/procedure room with all necessary equipment and supplies
- Participate in ongoing committees and other educational programs to enhance patient care
- Review physicians’ preference cards and update as needed
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts and documentation of same as applicable
- Maintain sterile field throughout the surgical procedure
- Have a general familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room
- Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to promote departmental relationships to ensure continuity of care
- Capable of functioning efficiently as a member of the surgical/procedural team
- Handle instruments correctly and check for cleanliness and proper working condition
Required Skills:
- The Circulating Registered Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and be currently licensed to practice nursing in the state.
- 1 year of experience in the operating room is preferred.
- Experience in circulating in total joints and ortho.
- The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as function within a team; assess patient needs, determine priorities, plan and direct care for the surgical patient, and possess the ability to handle stress.
- BLS/ACLS required.
