Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Therapeutic Specialist is responsible for driving the uptake of our Biosimilars products and achieving the sales and business objectives in their territory. These objectives are achieved by effectively partnering with healthcare professionals, teaching and community hospitals, as well as clinics. The Therapeutic Specialist works closely with the field cross-functional team and is responsible for the development and implementation of high-quality tactical plans. They are also accountable for the customer experience, ensuring the needs of HCPs and their patients are exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Realize sales and business objectives in their territory by conducting valuable customer engagements and ensuring our products & services, as well as the value they bring, are clearly and impactfully represented.
- Demonstrate ownership of the assigned territory by fully understanding its health care ecosystem, proactively identifying key customers, and engaging in the right mix of activities to support assigned brands while ensuring a customer-focused approach.
- Share geographical team responsibilities and collaborate closely to uncover/maximize business opportunities, develop and implement cross-functional action plans, and provide the best access to our brands.
- Work in partnership with the head office team and act as a link in the field. Execute strategies and transmit key customer insights to make required adjustments.
- Demonstrate strong territory management execution based on data-driven decisions, thoroughly understanding the market and the accounts while leveraging various sources of data.
- Demonstrate Organon’s Leadership Standards in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, completing tasks in a manner fully consistent with company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, commerce, science, or related field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical sales.
- Ability to engage in patient management and product-related discussions, using evidence, product attributes, market access, and physician support expertise to provide value to customers.
- Able to rapidly develop durable customer relationships and build stakeholder networks across key accounts.
- Demonstrates the ability to think strategically, critically, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- High level of proficiency in selling skills and management of objections.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
- Ability to rapidly learn, analyze, develop, execute, and track a territory business plan.
- Ability to succeed in a competitive, dynamic, and fast-paced market space.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset.
- A proven track record of performance excellence in meeting targets and objectives.
- Good business acumen.
- Experience in specialty medicine, particularly in gastroenterology or rheumatology, is a strong asset.
- Knowledge/experience in the Biosimilars/Biologic therapies market is a strong asset.
- Good understanding of Patient Support Programs and their role in the patient journey is an asset.
- A spotless record of ethics and compliance with all industry rules and regulations.
- Proficiency in office technology and territory management tools.
- Travel required on territory (>50%), and occasionally nationally/internationally.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Language: English.
